Ever wondered what a prince’s city palace would look like? No, don’t climb over the Buckingham Palace gates, just hop on over to another one of Travel and Leisure’s Top European Hotel, The Hotel Imperial. Located in Vienna, Austria, this five-star, 138-roomed hotel was once the home of the Prince of Württemberg. After living there for five years, he didn’t like his new home and he sold it off. Well, one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.
So what’s so great about it? Some of it’s more famous (and other infamous) former guests were Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Emperor Franz Joseph, and the current Emperor and Empress of Japan. The hotel also specializes in the Tart Imperial, a tasty pastry dish that has an expiration date of two months.
Next time, you feel the need to dwell in a former Prince’s home, look no further than the Hotel Imperial. More info on their official site here.

Considered by Travel and Leisure as the hotel to go to in London, The Milestone Hotel, is known for it’s local feel, exposing guests to the best hospitality the English can give. This five-star, 57-roomed hotel is located in the heart of London, just overlooking Kensington Palace, and a few minutes from the Royal Albert Hall.
It’s a great place for travelers. For those who can’t leave their technology behind, there’s are Bose I-Pods, docking stations, and free WiFi within the hotel. Weary and need a place to relax? It has a heated resistance pool, gym, sauna, and treatment room as well. If you brought your kids with you, no need to worry as they have child minding services available.
It maybe considered small, but it provides more than most large hotels. You can go to their website for more details.

The Hotel Sezz is situated in the 16th so off the compressed track but right by the Seine with an astounding view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s in a calm side street opposite delightful apartments with geranium decorated balconies, extremely French. It’s boutique and designer with chic but comfortable rooms. My friend’s room had a Japanese bath (beautiful but not terribly practical) removed from the bedroom by a full length glass wall. Bathroom products are Kiels and they’re generous with them too. Being slightly off the main drag you will need to get taxis into town (10 minutes, 18 Euros at most).
What actually sets the Sezz apart are the charming people who run it. Magali was controling things when we stayed and is a total happiness. She speaks excellent English and helps with any request. Whilst there I was taken ill (entirely my own fault, I wasn’t well when I left the UK but thought it would get better). I needed a doctor to be called to the hotel and Louis the night manager was wonderful, taking care of everything calmly and efficiently. Without doubt the team at Sezz are the most charming and helpful I’ve come across, not just in Paris but in my recent experience of hotels. It’s chic, reasonably priced and with lovely staff, do try it.

The superior interior design of this grand hotel resembles that of a gracious home. The Dutch Delft lamps complement oriental rugs and a warm colour scheme throughout the lobby which provides a very relaxing ambiance. It is not surprising that the Amstel Inter-Continental Amsterdam is popular amongst royalty and celebrities as the service is excellent and provides its guests utmost attention. In addition to this, the Michelin restaurant, La Rive, serves top-notch international cuisine that would suite your appetite.

Would you believe me if I told you that one of the premier European Hotels was founded by an insurance company? Yes, the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest was built by the Gresham Life Insurance Company way back in 1906. However, 90 years or so later, it was purchased by another company and is now being managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. In June 2004, it was reopened to the public to a resounding success.
So what’s so special with this place, you say? Just like the other hotels we’ve covered before, this one also has a specialty, the darázsfészek, a Hungarian sticky bun. The hotel also has Páva Restaurant, considered as one of Hungary’s best restaurant. For parents who brought their children with them, fear not as the hotel also has something to offer them, such as complimentary use of games, playing cards, coloring books, and video games.
Who knew that insurance companies had such good taste in hotels?
