The world’s largest island, Greenland, is a vast throng of ice between the regions of Scandinavia, North America and the North Pole.
Ever since time immemorial, it has only been inhabited by the indigenous Eskimo hunters living on the edges of ice-filled land and it has been an absolute proof that man is adapting to his environment.
About 2 hours of flying time from Iceland (only port/terminal to Greenland), you’ll be more than happy to check-in in Greenland’s picturesque Hotel Kulusuk.
Hotel Kulusuk is beautifully located on Greenland’s shore in eastern extremity, Kulusuk. The hotel is about a few minutes away from the access to East Greenland and Kulusuk Airport (been recently renovated and offers tax free products for souvenirs and such).

The superior interior design of this grand hotel resembles that of a gracious home. The Dutch Delft lamps complement oriental rugs and a warm colour scheme throughout the lobby which provides a very relaxing ambiance. It is not surprising that the Amstel Inter-Continental Amsterdam is popular amongst royalty and celebrities as the service is excellent and provides its guests utmost attention. In addition to this, the Michelin restaurant, La Rive, serves top-notch international cuisine that would suite your appetite.

Would you believe me if I told you that one of the premier European Hotels was founded by an insurance company? Yes, the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest was built by the Gresham Life Insurance Company way back in 1906. However, 90 years or so later, it was purchased by another company and is now being managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. In June 2004, it was reopened to the public to a resounding success.
So what’s so special with this place, you say? Just like the other hotels we’ve covered before, this one also has a specialty, the darázsfészek, a Hungarian sticky bun. The hotel also has Páva Restaurant, considered as one of Hungary’s best restaurant. For parents who brought their children with them, fear not as the hotel also has something to offer them, such as complimentary use of games, playing cards, coloring books, and video games.
Who knew that insurance companies had such good taste in hotels?
